Overview

Brew & Bread Changkat Bukit Bintang stands as a cozy retreat tucked within the vibrant heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Bintang district. This café blends a relaxed ambiance with a carefully curated menu that appeals to both casual coffee enthusiasts and food lovers seeking a light yet satisfying brunch experience.

Located at 16, Changkat Bukit Bintang, the cafe draws in a diverse crowd—from local patrons to travelers—who appreciate its balance of rich coffee offerings and a selection of hearty mains and tempting desserts. The space carries a slightly worn charm; there's room for a refresh, but its inviting atmosphere remains perfect for unwinding or casual meet-ups.

The beverage highlights are solid—expertly crafted cappuccinos and flat whites deliver smooth, well-rounded flavors that appeal to those who regard their coffee seriously. Their iced americano and hot latte also stand out as reliable choices. Complementing these drinks are pastries and desserts that truly shine. The jackfruit strudel and caramel macadamia tart receive particular praise, while the New York cheesecake and tiramisu provide satisfying sweet finishes that steer clear of excess.

On the savory front, dishes like the Mighty Chicken and truffle carbonara attempt to impress, though feedback suggests some flavors might lean towards mild, with a few dishes such as the shakshouka needing a more balanced seasoning. However, options such as the salted egg calamari and fresh salads like Alice’s Secret Garden bring freshness and innovation to the table.

Customer experiences consistently highlight attentive and friendly service, contributing positively to the overall dining mood. The cafe’s assurance of halal offerings expands its appeal to a broader local and international clientele. While some reviews note the need for interior improvements, most agree that Brew & Bread is an appealing spot for brunch and coffee breaks alike.

In essence, Brew & Bread is an accessible, no-frills café that offers dependable coffee, a modest mix of flavorful dishes, and delightful desserts. Its location in Bukit Bintang makes it an excellent choice for those exploring the city who desire a casual yet pleasant culinary pause amid the urban buzz.

Coffee was not bad. Food was ok, nothing exceptional. Shashouka dish was a little bland with overwhelming taste of herbs. Best thing were the desserts imo, jackfruit strudel was yummy, cheesecake was not bad but not the best I’ve tried. Would go back to try the other bakes.

The first thing we asked was are they halal, and they assured us that they are. We didn't even need to finish our sentence. The food and the service was good. The interior could be improved a bit. If you look closely, it looks a bit run down. But all in all, not a bad place to have brunch and chill.

Been wanting to eat here for a while and today the opportunity presented itself. The place did not disappoint. We had the Salted Egg Calamari & Alice Secret Garden salad. Cappuccino & The Summer Bee. Finished those off with a slice of Macha crepe & Macadamia tart... I'll let the photos speak for itself. Delicious&Decadent. says this @crazykookycook

We were about to go to a different restaurant, saw this one on the way and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, good food, nice atmosphere, welcoming staff. The service was a bit slow though, we had long finished our coffee by the time they brought the dishes and by the time the second of us got his dish, the first one had already started eating because the waiting time was slightly too long. (we were there on a Monday at 12:30 pm). The coconut coffee wasn't that good, it's cold coconut juice (with ice) with a coffee poored inside (the coffee taste was weaker than the coconut juice taste). It was ok but I should've asked if it was cold or hot before ordering it. Mighty chicken on the picture added to this post (careful, the mango chutney is spicy ). 2nd pic is Kinoki Genki Bowl and lemon tart. 3rd pic is Nasi Lemak. 4th pic is Salmon Chasuke. The lemon tart is delicious
